Role Summaries


President

PurposeLeads the club with integrity, energy, and direction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and ensure the club operates in line with its Constitution and values.

  • Chair Management Committee, General, and Annual General Meetings.

  • Represent the club at official functions, with Downey Park Netball Association, and other partners.

  • Support and mentor committee members and help resolve issues collaboratively.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful club culture.


Secretary

Purpose: Ensures the club runs smoothly through strong organisation and record keeping.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and distribute meeting notices, agendas, and minutes.

  • Maintain the club’s member register and official records.

  • Handle correspondence and communication on behalf of the club.

  • Support compliance with reporting requirements to Netball Queensland and the Office of Fair Trading.

  • Assist with club administration, including communication to members.


Treasurer 

PurposeOversees the club’s finances with accuracy and accountability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the club’s accounts, receipts, and payments.

  • Keep accurate financial records and ensure proper authorisation of spending.

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the committee and at the AGM.

  • Coordinate the annual audit and ensure compliance with financial reporting obligations.

  • Advise the committee on budgets, spending priorities, and sustainability.


General Committee Members

PurposeContribute ideas, support activities, and help drive the club’s success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Attend and actively participate in Management Committee meetings.

  • Lead or support subcommittees and projects such as uniforms, fundraising, coaching, events, or communications.

  • Represent the interests and ideas of members.

  • Assist at club events, sign-on days, and community activities.

  • Uphold the club’s values of teamwork, respect, and community spirit.


All Committee Members must:
  • Act in good faith, with care and diligence, in the club’s best interests.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality.

  • Ensure compliance with the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld) and club policies.

  • Work together to strengthen our club community and provide opportunities for players of all ages.
